Why I Became a Therapist |
Why I became a therapist
Here are three reasons why I have chosen to dedicate my life to helping marriages and families overcome their painful pasts and thrive.
Personal experience with family dysfunction: Growing up without knowing my biological father, having a dysfunctional relationship with my stepfather, and lacking a sense of family has given me first-hand experience with the challenges and complexities of family dynamics. This personal experience has inspired me to pursue a career that helps others navigate similar difficulties and build healthier, more functional relationships.
Desire to help others: My personal experiences have instilled in me a strong desire to help others who are struggling with similar issues. By becoming a clinical psychologist and marriage and family counselor, I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in need.
Interest in human behavior and relationships: My personal experiences have sparked an interest in understanding human behavior and relationships. Through my education and training, I have developed a deep understanding of the psychological and emotional factors that influence our interactions with others, and I can use this knowledge to help others build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.
In summary, my personal experiences and a desire to help others have led me to a career as a clinical psychologist and marriage and family counselor. My unique background and insights have enabled me to connect with and support my clients in a meaningful and effective way.

AREAS OF SPECIAL FOCUS

Dr. Robbins is the Emergency Room Marital Therapist. What does that mean? Dr. Robbins specializes in bringing couples back from the brink of divorce. The type of therapy needed for those who are seriously considering divorce is very different from your typical marital therapy. It's direct. It's concise. It's active. Having worked with couples for over 40 years, he is well versed with the challenges of changing the course of a wayward marriage. Often, finances are a part of the problem, if not at the core of the problem. In fact, poor financial management has been deemed as the number one cause of divorce by many divorce studies. As a financial advisor, he brings his expertise to these challenges as well. Often, Dr. Robbins is the person couples go to when "all other things have failed."
In addition, Dr. Robbins specializes in working with parents of out-of-control children, teens, and under-functioning young adults.. When parents are bombarded with conflicting advice about how to deal with defiant kids, Dr. Robbins cuts through with tried and effective tools to bring peace to your home. He also enjoys helping those struggling with depression, anxiety, panic attacks and phobias and with families of police officers and firefighters and other first responders. Being in business for the past 38 years, the owner of five businesses, a financial advisor, and a former licensed mortgage broker, Dr. Robbins brings a full perspective to the challenges that business owners are faced with. From balancing family and business success, employee challenges, family-owned business challenges, and a host of other issues that owners are faced with, Dr. Robbins brings clinical and practical experience to your challenges. |
